Life is busy but the savings and progress continues

My September electric bill which encompases the record temps we had a few weekss ago is in...

09/21/2007

30

68.67

$ 433.26

09/21/2006

30

91.93

$ 777.72

Almost a $345 savings.

Even my water usage was 15% less then last year.

Now that the tempature is down to something more comfortable I can finish my other household projects. I want some more ideas from people that will save money and help the enviroment.

Since March this year my electric bill has been $2,194.28 versus the prior year it was $4,381.09. That is 50% less cash and a $2,186.81 savings. This is with an investment of $551 (excluding fridge - $851 including the fridge). FYI not everything that I have spent money on like the motion sensor switches and all are in place yet.

One good deed...

One of the folks I gave a dozen CFLs to came up to me and said he had two ceiling fans for me if I wanted them... I took them and I am going to use them in my kids rooms.

Helping others - helps yourself,

Record energy usage but, not at my house

Southern California Edison said its energy load peaked at an all-time high of 23,303 megawatts Friday afternoon, surpassing the previous record of 22,889 megawatts set on July 25, 2006.

Even though we have had record heat and and energy demand we have been doing OK. It will probably be more expensive then we would care but, but, no usage records here.

I need to give out some more CFLs so my nieghbors will save money and electricity as well.

I am still looking for more ideas to make my home more energy efficient.
