$300 more in savings

Progress in the attic is slowed now by the smoke of the various Southern California fires. I can not work up in the attic. My home is not in any danger but, the air quality is poor.

In addition the fires have me running the fans on my AC system 24 hours a day to circulate the air through the filters. It at least keeps the air clean.

But, another $313 in savings.

More CFLs burnout + more

Some more CFLs burn out...

So, I sent this out to FEIT and hopefully they will respond.

All the work is still paying off and I actually climbed up into the attic the other day and made some more progress on the radiant barrier while the temps were cooler outside.

Eventually LED bulbs will be even better but, they are still not bright enough for most uses and where they are the costs are still too high.

I also, recently tried to get on a trial for a next generation solar system for my home. So, far no luck but I will keep trying.

Support,

A few months ago I had 4 bulbs that burnt out within a 1 month or so of putting them in. Eventually I got the replacements (I heard an ex-employee lost all the replacement info). It took nearly 3 months to get the last replacements.

I hope your computer system is better now. For some odd reason I have had 6 bulbs burn out in the last 2 or 3 weeks in different places of my home. All of them are 23 watt (100 Watt replacement) CFLs. All were bought and installed in March/April 2007 most were bought at Walgreens and were subsidized by SDGE.

Here are my list of questions?

1) How do I get replacements for each bulb?

2) Are you having a quality problem? Bad batch? I have about 60 of these and between the last bath and this batch I will have had 10 that burnt out well before their expected life span. They are expected to last for 7 years. It has been 7 months.

3) Have you any improved versions of these bulbs that you can replace them with?

Regards,

Salt water as power source...

Check out this link...

Burning Salt Water

My only question is how much energy is required to going the water in terms of radio waves and how do you get out. However it may be a cheap way to produce hydrogen.

Cool,

Whats a person to do?

On the home front progress is slow but steady.

The family is making some progress and I am trying to figure out if I have any more low hanging fruit.

Personally I want to go solar at my home eventually. Then get a plug in electric car therefore not be paying others forever.

Anough I think there is a place for ethanol this article does not.

Shuck The Ethanol And Let Solar Shine

FYI, the CFL vendors have honored thier warantees and replaced the 4 bulbs that have burnt our since I started this effort. Alough I just lost another one yesterday in my kitchen.
